Checkout explanationSignificance Calculator
The significance calculator is a tool to determine the significance of a chain based on the amount of transactions or assets on each chain. The significance is calculated as a percentage of the total amount of transactions or assets. Based on the importance of asset distribution and ingoing/outgoing transfers the significance may vary.

What is the Blockchain Dominance Index (BDI)?
Pantos' feature to move assets around different chains, makes it the first denominator assets. This innovation sets the stage for a new crypto-economic metric, the Blockchain Dominance Index. This index will provide a real-time view of how Pantos, PANDAS, and wrapped assets are being used and distributed across different blockchains. It will measure the significance of each blockchain within the PAN ecosystem, offering a dynamic insight into the ecosystem's landscape.
The way people easily use PAN shows how much they trust different blockchain projects. This easy flow of PAN between blockchains helps in predicting the value of cryptocurrencies and understanding the big picture of the crypto world.
How can the BDI be estimated?
When looking at cross chain transfers or multichain transfers, we have serveral factors, which do play a role for the dominance index. We have to decide which makes a chain more valuable by looking at figures & stats. The two main stats, which are important to us are transfers & token distribution. Each can say a lot about, how often a chain is used or how popular a blockchain is to keep assets on it.
Basic parameters
PANSCAN calculates the importance of a chain as follows: Before digging deeper we need to declare some variables and constants, which are used for the calculation:
assetWeight(aw) = 0.5
baseTransferWeight(btw) = 1 - tw = 0.5
inTransferWeight(itw) = 0.7
outTransferWeight(otw) = 1 - itw = 0.3
Calculation of transfer distribution in %
For the transfer distribution, all ingoing and outgoing transfers are taken into account, the sum of those 2 is then divided by the sum of all in- & outgoing transfers of all Pantos supported chains.
Calculation of asset distribution in %
All multichain assets and their distribution on each chain define how important a chain is.This basically means, if there are more assets percentage wise on chain A then on chain B, A will be probably more important than chain B. The average percentage on each chain is taken for further calculation.
Calculation
To now get the significance (in %) for each chain, we take as a base the current token distribution and add the weighted transfers from the last 24 hours to it. This basically returns us a pretty good weighted dominance index.
